Six businesses. One name. Tessero.

Ten weeks ago, Meraki Capital completed the acquisition of six recruitment businesses from Hays across Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Romania, Luxembourg and Czechia.

From today, they trade under one name. Tessero.

These are established businesses. Real teams, years of client relationships, and a track record in their own markets. What they didn't have was a shared identity of their own. Today they do.

Why one name

Six markets could have meant six brands. Six websites, six stories, six sets of everything. But a group is only worth something if clients and candidates can see it as one. So one name goes over the door in every market, from the same morning.

Each market keeps its own leadership, its own team and its own local strength. And each sits under a single frame that says it belongs to something bigger.

Where the name comes from

Tessero comes from tessera, the single tile a mosaic is built from. On its own, a tessera is a small square of stone or glass. It doesn't look like much. Set it beside others, under one frame, and it becomes part of a picture no single piece could make alone.

That is the group. Six markets, each a distinct tile. One picture.

And it is also the work. The right person in the right role in the right market. Finding the piece that fits. That is what these teams have always done. Now the name says it.

Getting there was not quick. More than sixty names were tested and rejected before Tessero, and each one faced the same hard tests. Was another recruiter already using it? Could it be protected? Would it be safe and easy to say in six languages? Tessero passed all of them.

The endline is Where every piece fits. It stays in English in every market.

Ten weeks

Ten weeks is no time at all to build a brand. In that time the teams built a name, a mark and a website live in nine languages, and six countries launched together on the same day.

The businesses traded throughout. Clients and candidates saw no interruption. That is what we are proud of.

What changes, and what doesn't

For clients and candidates, almost nothing changes. Same consultants, same numbers, same relationships. Live roles, agreements and applications all carry on. Nobody needs to do anything.

What changes is the name, and what sits behind it.

What comes next

Day One is a beginning, not a badge swap.

The ambition is for Tessero to be known across Europe as a specialist recruiter. Specialist not in broad sectors, but in the narrow niches where depth of knowledge makes the difference. And it is backed by a group that invests in the businesses it buys and puts brand, technology, data and commercial discipline behind them, the kind that a single-market business can't fund on its own.

Tessero joins Magnus Search, HW3 and SERT in the Meraki Capital portfolio.

Own It. Earn It. Love It.
